George Lane,South Woodford

New Farmers Market for George Lane,

South Woodford

As from this Sunday 17th April 10am to 3pm George Lane will see the return of our farmers market.

It was trailed in November and December last year but with the on going refurbishment street works it was decided to wait until these were completed.

Although the weather was against us all in November and December, all our traders feel this venue can be a great place for both them and the local residents alike.

We feel not only will it attract the local South Woodford residents, but also residents from Wanstead who have helped make Wanstead Farmers Market a great sucess story both for our traders and local shopkeepers alike.

So come along this Sunday 10am to 3pm and meet some of our great producers, like Artisan Foods breads and paterisses,Norton Field Farm free range eggs,Rhyne Park Farm rare breed pork beef and lanb and many more.

Great success for Brentwood

Having now gone twice a month at The Baytree Centre, 1st and 3rd Saturday 9am to 4pm, it was a great success on Saturday the 6th November with the addition of extra stalls along the High Street.

Ian Chisholm said after "Saturday's trading was a great success, not only for the traders ,but for the Town as well."

Having worked hard with Brentwood Borough Council to delivery what we all believe will grow into a top class venue attracting shoppers not just for the farmers market but into the Town bringing added footfall for the shops as well.

It gives the public the opportunity to meet producers and speciality traders with a different range of goods not always available in the supermarkets.

We look forward to working alongside Brentwood Borough Council and thank Lisa Stroulger for all her hard work.

In addition to the regular Farmers Market at The Baytree Centre we are holding four Christmas Markets each Thursday in December,2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd.

The 2nd December market will trade between the hours of 9am to 6.30pm to coincide with the Towns turning on the lights. The other date trading from 9am to 5pm.

Local Authorities

Local Authorities

We are always looking for new locations to establish new markets. If you are a local authority interested in working alongside us to set up new markets, primarily in town centre locations, please feel free to contact us.

Benefits of a Farmers Market

It can bring higher spending clientele to a town centre with larger footfall, with the benefits to not just the farmers market but the general shop traders as well. It allows small farmers and food producers the opportunity of a “shop window” in a town centre location which ordinarily they would not have access to. Benefiting the local economy, farmers markets allow locally produced foods to be sold to a local audience helping to sustain the local farming community.
