Local Value at Valentine’s Mansion A BRAND NEW monthly Farmers Market has opened in the delightful park setting of the gardens at the newly restored Valentine’s Mansion and Gardens. More than 2000 visitors came along to sample and buy fresh seasonal and local produce, and the market aims to set aside a few food myths, as organiser Ian Chisholm explained: ‘There is a misconception about buying locally produced food from a farmers market. Visitors expect high quality but are most often surprised that the prices are lower than many supermarket shops. We’d like to invite everyone to come along, meet the producers and take home some amazing and reasonably priced fresh local produce.’
